Volkswagen Complaint - 2003 Passat... Repairs, Repairs, Repairs

Complaint
Review by tedstew on 2009-06-16
TORRANCE, CALIFORNIA -- I think I stopped keeping track of the entire list, but I have a 2003 Volkswagen Passat, and the repairs started in the first month. The engine light went on because of a defect. Six months later, I needed new brakes. A year later, again new brakes. Two years after that, again new brakes. The reason? A design defect that has never been addressed by recall. But I also have had a new engine mount, shocks and struts, new water pump, new timing belt, and various other annoying things that I could credit to wear and tear were it not for the fact that I have just 44,000 miles on the car.

I took it into a dealer recently and it had six recall notices against it. A true lemon.
