The order was first placed on 06/04/2009 I received 1 screw when I was told I would receive 6 screws... although I only needed 3.
The second time I placed the order I told them I only needed 3 screws, but they sent 6 which is fine to have extra.
When they finally came I received 2 of the 0U781 screws(should have been 4 these are guide screws for optical drives) and I received 4 of the 3U305 screws which are not for optical drives at all.
They are for securing the side panel on to the case(they have huge heads on them with ribs or splines around the outside used for tightening with fingers.
I told them the screws were for a
Dell Dimension 2300 optical drive... so they should have know what screws I needed to install an optical drive. I also asked them if they could send me a picture of what I would be getting so I could tell them if it was correct or not(kind of sad I would have to tell them if they were sending the right parts or not).
I wish they had a page to look up a. PDF with exploded views of
computers and parts w/part numbers or something of the like so I could verify part numbers for myself... even though the customer should not have to do that either.
This information should all be on file and easily accessible! It was hard to understand the Sales person and most of the others I dealt with when trying to resolve the issues from the first order.
The communication problems, Hesitation to correct their mistakes and satisfy the customer and over all disorganization rests solely on Dell's operations, ethics and lack of regard for their customers!
