Sure why not.

I would send them a certified letter, receipt request, asking them for the release of the title. You may want to also provide a copy of the proof of payoff.

You will need to take the title to a BOA location, and keep your fingers crossed that someone there has actual authority to sign off on the title. I hope I'm wrong, but I will venture to dare you will go through a very frustrating process with this bank to get this simple matter resolved.

It may not be so bad, most titles are filed electronically. If your request gets to the correct person, they may be able to release your title and generate a copy for you with just a few keystrokes.

Ken, that's how it's supposed to work, but remember, the OP is dealing with BOA.

the dmv can also verify the loan is paid off, as well as issue a tittle.

Am I missing something, why do people keep saying BOA. Bank One merged with Chase.

um Saj, the OP is dealing with Bank One... BoA was never mentioned.
