McDonald's Corporation Informative - To Egg or not To Egg that is the question - Sausage Biscuit

Sausage Biscuit
Review by Stew on 2009-08-28
It is an early morning in Macon Georgia. The skies are slightly overcast and there's a drizzle feeling in the air. The boss's name is JL and my name is Stew.

I pull into the Riverside Drive McDonald's on my way to my duty station. I forwent the drive-through due to a long line and the propensity of getting reamed.

I order a sausage biscuit and a large drink. The young man rings it up when I notice that the sausage egg biscuits are on sale for $1.25 yet I got charged a $1.60 for my sausage biscuit. I asked, why did I get charged $1.60 when the sausage egg biscuits are $1.25. He said because because the sausage biscuits aren't on sale. I said yeah I kind of realize that but it seems odd to charge more for the sausage biscuit. He just shrugged.

If anything I'm about solutions and not conflict unless conflict conflicts me then I conflict conflict. I say okay cancel my order let's start again. Give me a sausage egg biscuit minus the egg and a large drink. He rings it up and holy joe the sandwich rings up at a $1.25. I pointed it out to the young man but he was unimpressed. It occurred to me the only reason back home in OKC I order a sausage biscuit is because they're on the dollar menu and the one with egg costs over twice as much so I say cancel that order let's do this all again. (When making changes to a FF order one should always cancel and start again). Give me a sausage biscuit with egg and a large drink. The young man says, 'hold the egg?' and I say no I do believe I will have the egg today. He mentally rolls his eyes and utters an uninspired 'cool'.

Eh, just another day in my life of complicated simplifications. Oh yeah the Sausage Egg biscuit was pretty, pretty good and at a buck and a quarter how can you lose?

(VH) 'Twas a well thought out and formulated review but alas, the content of the said review fell short to my standards here.
I give you credit for your savviness in saving the THIRTY FIVE CENTS but I do not condone your telling the kid how to do his job. He is merely doing what he is told.

OOo I love this Dragnetesque review! The young man is probably still a little awestruck with his Sgt. Friday encounter! Good one.

Great job stew! Your savvy calculations and logical implementations really won over this young lad to the point he quickly dissembled the Egg Beater Oozier he originally made for your drive, and replaced it with a neat and tighter biscuit sammie.
I'm giving this review a big thumbs up. If only it was around back in 04 so that "other" guy would have known to "stop , cancel, and start over.

Hey Stew, isn't you know who paying for your groceries when you are in another location on a top secret mission? If so I personally would like to commend you for saving we taxpayers $.35. You know a penny saved is a penny earned. Absolutely splendid review although I worry about that poor fella you confused. You really should go back and check on him. He's probably in a corner somewhere babbling in unknown tongues.

if you order a double burger it $1.69. If you order the double cheesburger, hold the cheese its $1. Guess you have to learn how to play the game.

Stewart the egg is the best part.

Did Pirate write this review for you? Or did you just happen to pay attention to Pirate and learn from him?

Try this one the next time Stew...(I did this today)...I went to the drive through and ordered a cheeseburger from the dollar menu...but told them, "Instead of KETchup, I'd like some Big Mac sauce on it" They said, "ok"...and I thought, yeah right, it's gonna have KETchup...to my surprise it had Big Mac sauce on it...so it was like those JR. Big Macs they used to sell...I wish they'd bring those back. I wonder what they would say if I told them I wanted Big Mac sauce AND lettuce on it? LOL...I guess that would be pushing my luck, huh? LOL!

why did this get 15 helpful votes?
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-08-28:
NOW what are you shaking your head about, ZZ?
Posted by Stew on 2009-08-28:
Why do you have three stars?
Posted by zzrokk on 2009-08-28:
DB, don't you have enough time to make your own Big Mac instead of bothering the people at Micky D's with your special requests?

MadC, this was Stewart's attempt at a "PSA" for all members that frequent FF joints. I gave him an "E" for effort.
Posted by madconsumer on 2009-08-28:
lol double Z!!
Posted by DebtorBasher on 2009-08-28:
But ZZ...I didn't eat breakfast and was out shopping and the hungry bug struck me. I went there for a Sausage, Egg and cheese Bagel, but they already stopped serving breakfast (It was 10:30am)...so, I didn't really want a Big Mac, just somthin' to hold me over and I knew better than to order a FOF...so, cheeseburge with Mac sauce it was. Besides THAT'S WHAT THEY GET PAID FOR!

I think the "Give me a sausage egg biscuit minus the egg and a large drink" was a great idea. Even better, it worked.
Posted by Stew on 2009-08-28:
mad I've never voted a single one of your comments 'not helpful'. I don't vote any comments 'not helpful'. Why do you tell stories?
Posted by madconsumer on 2009-08-28:
it is mcdonalds, geesh.
Posted by BokiBean on 2009-08-28:
Well so what? You did a review yourself on Steak and Shake? What gives?
Posted by zzrokk on 2009-08-28:
*OnCue*
Posted by madconsumer on 2009-08-28:
but MY review recieved normal amounts of votes, not faked votes.

i would love to see the hit record of non-members who voted it helpful.
Posted by Stew on 2009-08-28:
So my review got more helpful votes than yours, mad, big deal. There's no need to start tossing out false accusations and conspiracy theories. And by the way I voted your steak and shake review 'Very Helpful'. I thought you did a good job with that one.

Come on now getting jealous over who gets what on a consumer gripe site is kind of messed up dontcha think? Now put on your big grannie panties and get over it.
Posted by madconsumer on 2009-08-28:
truthfully, i don't see asking for no egg is a big deal.

"If anything I'm about solutions and not conflict unless conflict conflicts me then I conflict conflict."

Just thought that was clever and funny.
