As an ex employee, I would not recommend signing up with
ballys at all. Stay away. Go somewhere else even if that means you will pay a little more. Believe me, I will pay more. Even when I was working for Ballys, I had a
membership at
24 hour fitness. As far as Ballys goes, they will trick you into the contract.
They won't go over it. Its not clearly stated that after the contract, you have to call to cancel. Its stated in other words that you won't understand. All the gyms are dirty. They don't intend to clean it. They did away with all the Toilet Seat Covers(how gross), all the equipment is old, dirty, not working half the time. Some of the employees go under fake names so they won't get in trouble. The club managers tell their employees to use different names. Even some Managers go by different names and end up quitting after a short time. Ballys doesn't care if you lose your job, can't afford the
gym membership anymore, they just want your money. Do not sign up for Automatic payment. You will be stuck with that. You will be on hold for over an hour to speak to someone. You might even get cut off then half to wait all over. You can't even cancel your membership online because they want you to call so they can try and keep you. If you do want to keep your membership, tell them you want to cancel, then, they will lower your montly payments to $9 a month. But overall, stay away from Ballys. It will be a decision you will never forget. Again, coming from a former employee.
