Wachovia Corp Complaint

A bunch of crap

Times are really hard right now. Every penny counts, but Wachovia don't see it that way. Two weeks in a roll I have been hit with way over the top OD fees. The CASH deposit I made goes in after the transactions I made. Even thought the transactions was posted after the deposited. They sent the transactions through first.

I checked my account right before I made the deposit, and there was nothing stating I have any OD fees or anything transactions that I had to leave an OD. I had $140.00 in fees. When I called about it, they was rude and no help. After the third person I talked to the ended up refunding me $35.00. SO after that refund, my deposit..I am still neg. 75.00. One of the transactions was $2.00! In the past there was time when I did have an OD fee and it was my fault, I was an adult and delt with it. You think a big company would do the same! So I get to go this week and close out my account!

Do you keep a check register?
Or do you have anyway of keeping track of your purchases other than by relying on what it says online?
    Online doesn't show everything.
If you've made purchases first and then deposit money... it doesn't work that way. And it's going to post that way.
If you've used your debit card like a credit card (you don't punch your pin code in), it could take up to 6 days for those transactions to post. And, they don't always show up online as pending. So, while it may not show up that day, at night, if they post... and the money's not there, the merchant will take the money out anyway and that's how overdraft fees are ... more >>

"The CASH deposit I made goes in after the transactions I made." There's your problem. The cash is supposed to be in the account BEFORE you start spending it, not after. The same thing will happen to you at just about any other bank. Sit down with a CSR in the branch, and ask them if they will explain to you how a bank account works. It will save you a bundle in the long run.

i always try to make sure my deposit is cleared before i spend it

that way there's less risk of od

You mean you can't live on the float by writing checks or using debit cards, just as long as you get the money in before they arrive. What is America coming to. At this rate, the banks will start to actually expect us keep track of our own accounts.

naw JR, our president will do that for us. Personal responsibility is a thing of the past.

Again it all depends on the bank you choose. My bank doesn't charge OD fees on authorizations. OD fees are accessed after posting. Items are posted in this order, deposits, checks (in check number sequence) and debit card transactions (sequenced by occurrence). So at my bank the op's actions would not have resulted in OD fees.

It's simple. There are so many better choices available to handle your banking needs why in the world would anybody risk doing business with one of these big corporate national banks.

Mr. Popcorn: I am so happy to hear that. whew. I thought I would have to be responsible and not be mothered by someone.

Where was the personal responsibility when these banks such as Wachovia (Wells Fargo) raided the United States treasury.
