Wal-Mart Complaint

Wal-Mart monopoly - everything

Posted By: bellus on 11/6/2009

Wal-Mart seeks to rule this Thanksgiving and Christmas season. I personally have been trying to avoid shopping there as much as possible. In fact after shopping at Target for a while now, I find that if I watch sales I can shop for about the same cost as WM and still get everything I need. I also shop Super 1 and Albertson's when sales are really good. This has allowed me a savings of $25-75 per week some weeks.

Dont forget Sears has some good sale this holiday season. I am still disppointed to missed the sale of a LG 42" HDTV for only $650.00 at Sears.

"Wal-Mart seeks to rule this Thanksgiving and Christmas season."

What? What do you mean? Are you saying the television is overrun with commercials on Walmart savings? Ads being sent in the mail?
I don't understand your complaint about Walmart? Target also has many commercials about their savings as well as ads sent in the mail.

    Did they fire you?

how is this a complaint? Makes NO sense. Just.... i think they did fire them

Monopoly = exclusive control of a commodity or service in a particular market, the exclusive possession or control of something.

Since there seems to be a Target where you are, an Alberton's and a Super 1... the Walmart wouldn't really be a monopoly.

Walmart has done an exceptionally good job of taking the conversation about brand/service/trust, and making the conversation solely about stuff and price point. For example, you don't hear Nordstrom's going on and on about Walmart. Why? Because Nordstrom's isn't about price point. They have a different message.

Until which time someone effectively changes that conversation with the buying public, they will rule the house.

I can take my sales ads and coupons and when I shop after work at Walmart, I too can save $50-150 per month by couponing and price matching. The difference between me and you? I shop at one store and save my gas while you are running all over town to save the same money.

Walmart is a convenience for having many different departments. Funny how people complain about how high the prices are when they can simply price match AND stop wasting.

Lady--suggesting pricematching!----oh no!!! (bangs head on desk) Let the complaints about pricematching gone bad flow!
Seriously though-I think its a great idea if people use it right-that just seems hard for some consumers to do!

Red, price matching is great! As long as the item is advertised and the same item Wally will match it.

    best answer ladyscot!!

the ONLY issue i have with walmart price matching, is, they no longer match - buy one get one free. seems i abused that aspect. cann't a girl get free ice cream?

    LadyScot (11/06/2009)
Mad, the way around the buy one get one is to just divide the price. If it is buy one get one and the price is $5.00, then you just say it is $2.50 each at whatever retailer. I do it that way....technically it is free but we actually put the price in half in the register since we do not have a 'free' button.

lol ladyscot! ya but i think after 100 gallons of ice cream, they caught on to me!!!!!

lol no worries, i stopped eating scoop out ice cream. no portion control. now i just eat 4-6 ice cream bars or cones.

    LadyScot (11/06/2009)
Lol Mad...you better lay off that ice cream.
