Protects the thief and doesn't care about the victim - Verizon Wireless

I was checking my online billing last night and found a "pre authorization" from Verizon for over two hundred dollars (someone had gotten my card number and was using it). I do not use Verizon so I knew whoever placed an order wasn't me. I called Verizon and was immediately told the could not help me AND they could not look up my card number to cancel the order; they have my card number to pre authorize a payment for over $200, yet they can't look up my card number to cancel? Yeah, right!!

I also spoke with several customer service representatives that wouldn't even let me speak with a supervisor.

The last CSR I spoke with transferred me to the "fraud" department, but before she did, I asked her if I would actually get to speak with someone, told me yes, but all I was able to get was an automated system that informated me they could not trace fraud of a card.

No one would even talk to me about this problem. As far as I'm concerned, this company cares more about protecting the thief and getting their money than helping the victim. Why have a fraud department if they don't help and they won't even talk to you? I wasn't asking for the person's ID, I just wanted the billing stopped. No help..they didn't even care.

Contact your card company for fraudulent use of the card.

You need to contact the issuer of your card. They are the only place that can stop the payment. Do this ASAP and get a new card.

What they said. if you have not done so yet, please call your bank, report the fraudulent charge and cancel the card.
