We requested a Kayak sales person speak to us at our house about an above ground pool. The sales individual said we could get a deal if we purchased that night only. The pool was over $19,000, but he stated we would receive a 30 year
warranty. It was well worth the purchase. We purchased our pool from Midwest.
In July of 2008 we had our first panel go out. It took a month to respond at which time we could not use the pool. They pick the shipping company to ship the product to us (no others) and the cost was $260. We found out in the manual we received AFTER the pool was put in that the warranty requires co-payment after 3 years. This wasn't explained at purchase. In October 2009 we had our second panel go out weeks after our 4 year anniversary. Now we have to pay for the panel, the cost to ship it back to them and the cost of them to ship it to us. Buyer beware the 30 year warranty is useless, as they receive their money back in shipping and panel cost. You won't know this until your pool is installed. The cost of the lack of use of the pool while waiting for a response (if you don't drain the water down you are response for a tear of the liner) the cost to ship their defective panel back, the cost of the shipment of the new panel, the cost to refill your pool, and lastly the cost for their installer to install the new panel is not worth it!! Don't bother with their warranty sales, the cost of the cost isn't worth it!
