I hate Verizon - Customer service

Posted By: etphnhm on 11/6/2009

I am disgusted with this organization. I am about to go back to Comcast. I have never dealt with such an elitist organization when it comes to customer service. So much for the old claim, the customer is always right!

This is an e-mail I posted tonight on the verizonSUCKS.com website. I am outraged with mine and my wife's treatment over the past year.

She has been trying to add our phone service to Verizon. We keep getting a bill from AT&T. I keep giving her a hard time wondering why she hasn't changed. She told me every time she called Verizon she got the run around. I didn't believe her so I tried it myself tonight. It was one of the most horrendous experiences I have EVER dealt with. YOU recorded the calls, you can hear it too. Have a listen! If I haven't heard from an upper level representative of your company within 3 days, I am out of here and you will have the most negative PR storm I can create. By the way, I work for an organization with offices up and down the east coast. I am the National Operations Director. At present we utilize Verizon for all office and mobile phone services. We went with Verizon because of customer service, now I think your customer service is deplorable!!!

Don't blame Verizon. For some reason AT&T is not releasing your service. Have you actually CALLED at&T and canceled your service? THEN tried adding the phone to your plan that way?

LadyScot is right, it is up to the company you have your current service with to release the number to port out. However, if you cancel your acct with At&T, Verizon won't be able to port the number. Leave the acct active and once the number ports (when AT&T finally gets around to releasing the number) it will cancel off the acct automatically. I would contact the number transfer center with Verizon and ask them if they have any ETA on that number port over.
