Hoover Company Complaint - Not satisfied with hoover vacuum - Hoover Vacuum 8185-900

Hoover Vacuum 8185-900 - Complaint
Review by bioya on 2010-02-09
I purchased a Hoover vacuum u8185-900 abt a year ago. The first time of using it the pcb board. (That is the board that operates the motor for the beater) actually burned up and the beater stopped working. I purchased a new board and it ran abt five minutes and that one burned up. If ordered another one and time will tell if that one will be ok.

Does anyone else have this problem and if so how can it be fixed? The cost of anew motor will end up making this vacuum junk.. Never buy another Hoover.

Wow. That sucks.

Did Hoover replace the 1st board under warranty? If so, you might want to check back with them - if this is a known defect they might be willing to step up and help again.

there is a review at this site with concern to the same problem:

Sounds like the correct repair might cost more than the vaccuum itself...
