Bidz.com Complaint - ?? Reputation for Bad Customer Service - On-line Auction

On-line Auction - Complaint
Review by carann on 2004-10-29
CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA -- I am a relatively new user of Bidz.com, an online auction site. Thus far, I have only purchased jewelry and for the most part have been satisfied. Last week I won a bid on a ring for a very reasonable price. When I went to pay, I received a message that the item was unavailable. Being new, I wrote to customer service asking if this meant that the item was just currently unavailable, but I would receive it later or if it meant that the item was permanently unavailable. At the same time, they were currently offering the same item up for bid. So, I also asked that if it was unavailable, why was it offered in the first place and why is it still being offered. I have sent 3 e-mails to customer service so far and have yet to hear a word from them. I realize that I am not out any money and compared to other on-line auction nightmares, this is really trivial. Specifically, I am wondering if they have a reputation for poor customer service and not acknowledging e-mails. If this is the case, then I do not want to do business with them and I will not make any more purchases. Also if there is a pattern of poor service, then others should be warned.

Sorry to hear of another person duped by the tactics employed at Bidz.com. If you keep buying on that site, you can expect more of that and worse. Terrible site performance, glitches, horrid customer service, inflated valuations of extremely low-quality merchandise, Bogus grading and valuation certificates.....the list goes on and on. Do yourself a favor and find someplace else to shop online.

Sorry for the second post, I couldn't find the link. Visit this link for more information from Better Business Bureau. It's a long one, you may need to copy and paste it into your browser. Good Luck

You are so right, my sister and I have been fighting with them on the watch problem and, when they do answer, the answer is not what will take care of the problem......will NOT be shopping with them again. Spent over $1,000 in two months on watches and now have to pay for a jeweler to try and fix them. Good luck!

This company is bad news. I recently had a problem and when I complained and got nowhere I posted a complaint with LABBB and Ripoff Report. Lynne Berry of their customer service section must have got fed up with me not giving in on my complaint since she posted outright lies about my treatment of Bidz staff in an attempt to discredit me with other readers of the site.

Their customer service is virtually non existent if anything out of the ordinary occurs.

I actually was thinking of bidding on the Bidz.com site but being smarter than a box of hammers, decided to investigate possible complaints about the company. After reading complaint after complaint, I visited the LA BBB site and found that Bidz has an F rating, the lowest they could have gotten. This company is obviously to be avoided. The old addage is, once again proven to be true; "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is". Thanks to those of you who took the time to post. Saved me some time, aggravation, and possibly, some money. Go Denver Broncos, win state.

That happened to me once too at Bidz. I got a great deal and 'won' the item only to be told it was unavailble. I then saw the same item put up again and again at reserved price, which turned out to be very high. I guess they changed their mind after I got the Calgaro necklace cheap, and changed the rules midstream. Maybe someone forgot to make it a reserved price bid, but that wasn't MY fault.
