PORTLAND, OREGON -- I regret immensely not having done a review on furniture prior to purchase. I'd heard numerous ads regarding Ashley furniture being "brand name" furniture and on a whim purchased a new sofa and loveseat from a company that had a branch going out of business. I purchased the extra warranty on the product because I didn't want to get stuck with something that was garbage and learn out the hard way with nothing to protect myself. I bought the furniture because it was the most comfortable furniture I'd ever sat on! I was tickled with the deal... then, of course, I got it home and we sat on it. My daughter, afraid of a spider, slept on my couch- after one night, you could already see that the cushions were losing their shape. After an entire week, the cushions were nearly completely flat and the most uncomfortable furniture I'd ever sat on. I have back problems and it hurts my back terribly to sit on the couches for even 30 minutes!! This is NOT the furniture I paid for! I felt very much as though I was sold a used couch that had been passed off as brand new!! We're not seriously overweight people- this "brand new" couch should have lasted longer than a week! The 20 year old couches I'd replaced with these were in far better shape than this junk after I'd only had it one week! Highly, highly disappointed, I got in touch with Ashley, since the branch I bought the couches from had closed, and they just referred me back to that company. What the heck is a warranty for if the company that made the product won't honor it?? Seriously- I knew after the response I received that I paid for a warranty that would not be honored.

My recommendation to anybody that isn't interested in disposable furniture is do NOT buy Ashley furniture. It is junk. I have resigned to the fact that I was taken and that this company does not honor their work or take any pride in craftsmanship and have already purchased the materials to re-stuff my own furniture. At least I know that when I do it, it will be done right.
