I am trying to set up my new savings account to my existing
Bank of America account. After searching, I find this information.
How do I add a
checking, savings, money market, IRA, or CD account to
Online Banking?
If you want to view an additional
Bank of America checking, savings, money market, IRA or CD in Online
Banking, go to the
Customer Service page in Online Banking and click the "Add additional accounts" link.
The only problem with this information is that no Add additional accounts link exists in the Customer Service page.
I then enquire of customer service by calling and emailing.
My phone call is answered by a nice tech rep who informs me that he can see my account so something must be wrong with my pop up blocker, or firewall or anything that will mean it is not Bank of America’s fault. He leads me through the process of removing cookies, etc. and then restarting. Nothing. Same old account, no new savings.
My email is answered by another bright Bank of America employee who tells me to go to the account page and click on a word that does not exist on that page. It does not exist on the sign in page either.
I fire off another email message asking for clarification of what page they are talking about. In the meantime, I have to drive to the bank and physically move the money via my atm card to the right account.
Technology. Wonderful tool. Ray Bradbury had it right when he stated the main problem with Technology is between the Keyboard and the floor. I wonder if Bank of America will ever find the pages they believe they have on their web site. I will keep you informed.
