GE Money Bank Complaint - Balance Due - Dental Loan

Dental Loan - Complaint
Review by disgrunted choice on 2010-06-30
June `09 my brother need some work on his teeth, it was supposed to be $1700 dollars worth, I made the mistake to co-sign. I get the bill it is for $6072.15 you can imagine my shock. When they oked my credit they talked my brother into a lot of other work, without my permission he said ok. After dealing with them and understanding I would make $500 dollar a month payments for a year electroniclly I did. The first 8 months were perfect, then I get a statement with a late fee and finace charge call and dispute it, had to mail in a image copy it took a billing cycle to clear I then decided to up the next couple payemts 1 went through fine then the next one did not gat posted and bame a late fee and fince cahrg so I go through the same process same result. My records indicated I was making a final payment then I get the statment and BAM $21% finace charg on 6 grand. My final payment was recived but they said there was another payment missed 3 months pryor so I am still dealing with them and thay do not have a phone number to the research department etc. DO NOT GET A LOAN FROM GE MONEY! I spent probaly 4 hours total which may not seem like a lot in a year, but to no avail it sucks to know that all that time was for protecting myself. All my fault for co-signing. I have never had this problem with any bank!

WARNING! GE Money Bank is a band of crooks, but are so deeply insinuated in our economy, they can do as they wish. If you have an account at WalMart, you are dealing with GE Money Bank. Likewise if you have a Dillard's account, buy a Sleep Cpmfort bed or electronics from Carvin. They ripped me off for $90 through Care Credit because our service dog broke a leg in four places and ended up getting it amputated. If you can avoid it, do not do business with GE Money Bank. Go to your credit uniopn and obtain a loan, it will cost you much less, and in all the bank failures, I don't remember seeing one credit union fold.

I'm sorry to hear of your financial problems.

To begin with, why isn't your brother paying for the amount? It's nice you're covering the costs. Hopefully you've carefully kept a close set of records, documenting exactly what and when it was due, then showing proof of payment. As long as you've done that, you're not beholden to their financial tracking at all. You can contact them, in writing, showing the exact payments and when they were paid.

Let us know how thing turn out.

I have a major issue going on with GE Money Bank as well. Almost 18 mos. ago-I borrowed $2.700.00 for dental work my insurance did not cover. I used my brother as a co-signer. This loan was an 18 mo. "NO INTEREST" Promotional loan. I have paid over $1.700.00 in this time frame. NOW! i have aprox. 1 month before my "NO INTEREST" is up and their telling me i still owe $2.500.00 I'm trying to pay them off and now i can't even access my acct. with them!! I try online and it says acct.#'s doesn't match with theirs-even though it's the same #'s i've been using up to this point! I've copied them off my statement and off the credit card! I've read enough complaints now to know what's happening. They will try to avoid me untill after the 18 mos. is up and TO LATE FOR ME! Do not try to contact lisa.lanspery@ge.com-she either has another e-mail or is no longer there. I am now trying to reach russell.wikerson@ge.com or jeffery.demarrais@ge.com-NO word yet from those who were so eager to have my attention while applying for the loan! Off to another website to complain again. Join me won't you? Thanks for your time!
