debt consolidation - Complaint
Review by wags on 2010-07-03
DELRAY BEACH, FLORIDA -- This company is a sham! With all of the complaints received, this company now has a BBB rating of F!!!!!

My sister had them "consolidate" her credit card debt last autumn. To date, they have over $7000 of her money and not done a thing! She was served 2 lawsuits in May by credit card companies for lack of payments. When she was finally able to get through to her agent at GHS, the agent told her to fax a copy of the lawsuits, then promptly charged her another $395 for legal "retainer fee" to investigate the matter!

I told her to contact the Florida Attorney General's office and report this business ASAP. Anyone else burned by this bogus debt consolidator should do likewise. There are a ton of so-called debt consolidators springing up every day, and they'd just love to "help" relieve you of your money. Don't trust them. You can contact your credit card companies yourself and negotiate a payment plan. Afterall, they'd rather receive some money then have you file for bankruptcy and they get nothing at all. Call your debtors instead of these con artists!

That pretty much says it all. They promise you nothing. And that is exactly what you get.

And this from their Disclosure Statement:

7. Communications with creditors are handled on a case by case basis. In some instances creditors may not be contacted until several months after you enroll.

Now if that doesn't raise a flag for you nothing will.
