Vanderbilt Mortgage Complaint - Don't finance with Vanderbilt mortgage!!!!! - Mobile Home

Mobile Home - Complaint
Review by josie22 on 2010-10-08
MARYVILLE TENNESSEE, TENNESSEE -- We first bought our home we had associates housing finance loved these ppl. We had a grace period of 2 weeks, n after the 2 weeks they didn't bother you. Unfortunately, Vanderbilt Mortgage bought our loan, omg, they would call if you were 1 day late and if they couldn't get you they would call the neighbors everywhere to find you even though your not on the contact list. I am an open and honest person and I know ppl have to do their jobs, but vanderbilt I would advise you not to fool with them, as long as your on time n all their fine but as soon as you miss a payment they go left on you. I would not advise you to fool with them. So unprofessional. at the end of my loan the account representative added $175 supposedly insurance they placed and then lisha the account representative told me if I got my payoff from her they would not add the $35 to it well they added it I called her n said lisha you told me specifically I wouldn't be charged the fee she said well it was nothing she could do, I was so mad...

Probably the best idea is just don't be late with the payment.

Your complaint is that you feel they were harassing you cause your payment was late. So you being late on your payment IS the point or you wouldn't have written this complaint

When you miss a contracted scheduled payment without trying to negotiate the situation with the mortgage company, that is considered bad form and a poor reflection of personal character. Be nice to Alain.

the problem is i had already scheduled when i would pay and they still would call n harass you even when the payment was scheduled and the time to pay it hadn't arrived yet, everyone would not be complaining about them if they were a good company!

It looks like you paid this loan off? Congratulations OP and thanks for the heads up! I will be sure not to deal with them in the future. These are tough economic times all around. You had to have some type of decent credit to get the mortgage in the first place and it isn't unusual these days to find yourself a little behind the eight ball so no judgments here. You said they "as long as you are on time all is fine" and that is the key to dealing with them. They are entitled to be a pain in the butt if you aren't but if it was stressful for you, I am glad you are out from under them.

It is absolutely certain that they are not calling the neighbors if a payment is a day late. These days there are barely enough collectors to call the borrowers who are actually past due. That kind of exaggeration casts doubt on the rest of the complaint, which may in fact have been legitimate.

I am due on the !st. They alled me on the 6th and was RIDICIOUSLY rude. Never been late and wasn't late then. On my statement it says $5.00 late fee if pd after 16th. That's when they should place a call...not on the 6th. Thay truly are unproffessional AND stupid.
