Total Protect Home Warranty Informative - Thanks for the information/not getting it - Warranty
I was actually considering purchasing a home warranty plan for my 42 yr old home. The really frustrating thing is this: I received the information in the mail from my bank! I trust my bank, or at least I thought I did. I assumed if my bank sends me information it must be reputable. I went on line and did some research and read countless horror stories about people getting ripped off. For every 20 rip off stories I read one happy ending. To be honest...I don't believe the happy ending stories, I think they are planted! I am grateful for all of the people that have shared their experiences, I am a single mom. I THOUGHT it was a good idea to have a warranty on my 'big ticket' items in my home....I don't ever have a lot of extra money around to replace such things, but at least I won't get ripped off by this racket! Thanks again!!!!

I'm so glad you took the time to research other people's experiences before spending your money on something that won't pay off. Having one of these warranties seems like such a good idea until it's time to cash in. It would be wonderful if you could actually rely on a home warranty to give you peace of mind but, as you found out, it doesn't work that way.
Even if money is tight, try to put a little away whenever you can in an account specifically for emergencies. That way you can deal with things as they happen with a company of your choice.
