I am very upset about my Inspiron 8500
laptop. I can't understand why I can't get good
service.
My laptop was sent into the Depot for repairs, they not only did not do them, they damaged my laptop and now the service has gone downhill from there
no one will return my calls to corporate office.
I have called the corporate office twice and left voice mails, but nothing, no calls back in 3 days. I have had the onsite tech here twice and he is coming back for the third time on Monday, trying to get this fixed, but when they replaced the bottom of the laptop they did not put the same one back on and this one has no vent for the fan. I am worried that the
computer will now over heat and burn up, but no one will get back with me on it. This has been a long and never-ending struggle
I sent the laptop into the depot for these issues and even enclosed a sheet of paper with the unit listing them.
1. the battery would not charge (they were to test the battery)
2. the mouse button on the touch pad (right side) kept sticking and it would cause the system to hang, (they were going to replace the palm rests, which is where the mouse is to resolve this)
3. The tech thought the system might be overheating and due to the battery issue they wanted it to come to the depot to be completely tested.
4 rubber feet had melted off for the second time and they were to replace them (I have only had the unit since 8/23/03
5. the lid of the computer was wobbling back and forth and very loose
6. the speakers were making a popping and crackling sound.
I talked to them on Wed, shipping took it,
Dell had it Fri Sat and Sun and Monday morning early it was back at my home. (fast turnaround) they had it back very quickly, but not so much since they didn't fix it.
they fixed the mouse button by replacing the palm rests.
