Hampton Inn & Suites Complaint - Terrible bathtub

Complaint
Review by chynadoll on 2011-01-12
BROOK HAVEN, MISSISSIPPI -- I was a guest at Hampton Inn in Brook Haven and I could not take a shower or bath. The bathtub was dirty. I complained to the manager and to house keeping. Housekeeping came in and recleaned the tub, but it was still stained. I was offered another room, but it was not any cleaner. The front desk told me that they will resurface the tubs some time this year. Well my visit was on December 23 and 24. That was not good enough for me. I even went out and bought flip flops, but still did not feel comfortable geeting in the tub, so I took a bath at my relatives home.

I was not satified with that service. The rest of my stay was good. Please follow your motto "If you are not satisfied, you shouldn't have to Pay."

What do you mean by a stain? Is it mud on the bottom of the tub or wear?

most of these hotels use fibeglass tubs that get discolored. They aren't 'dirty' just appear off color.

I might be crazy, but when I travel I take all sorts of things with me. Including cleaning stuff. I'm inclined to agree with Dan.

hampton inn is not a 5 star hotel. low star hotels will have some things that are not right.

this is the price of saving a few hundred per night.

I'll bet your feet have been in a lot worse places.
I have good results with Hamptons. Matter of fact, I stay at the one in Brookhaven on occasion. Friendly folks and for the most part kept well.

Couldn't you have just taken a shower with your flip-flops on so you wouldn't come in contact with anything? Stains do not necessarily mean a bathtub is not sanitary. Some stains just can't be removed regardless of the amount of cleaning.

If the issue was that the tub was older and stained and not dirty - it seems they cleaned it for you, I don't quite know what you can complain about. These things can stain over time and you cannot get the stains out. One cannot expect a new tub every year so there are trade offs. Maybe you should stay at a higher price establishment although that does not mean you will get no stains.

If you want royal accommodations then you need to spend money and stay at The Four Seasons. If you saw them clean the tub and the stain was still there, then the tub was clean. They even offered you another room. That is good service! Some people cannot be made happy no matter what some establishments do.

most likely because if they're "unhappy" they can try to claim they have a right to get their money back.
