DOVER, NEW HAMPSHIRE -- I had LKibery Mutual auto insurnace for 6 yeras. I recently shopped aroind and found that their rates were on the high side. I called the cancel and asked the representative if I owned more than the last mont's premium and was told I did not. I then got a bill for 2 months premiums. I called again and was told I had missed a paymnet. I checked the auto draft statements and had not missed any. I called back and was told I was being charged a penalty for canceling before the annivesary date of my policy. I talked to the agent of the new company and was told that only applies to the first year and I would not have to pay it due the 6 years I had the policy. I setn a check to cover the last paymnet. It was due on a Sunday. I mailed it 6 days in advance, should have been there. I got an email threating to report me to a collection agency. I called my state insurance office and was told they could charge the penalty. The original contract said nothing about the penalty and the first 2 reps I talked to did not seem to know about it. I was not informed until the third call !! The company advertises that they " do the right thing " by customers. Screwing customers out of money and not telling them all their rules is apparently the " right " thing. Stay away !!
