Church's Chicken Complaint - They Just Cannot Get My Order Correct - Chicken

Chicken - Complaint
Review by pamtunes on 2011-04-27
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA -- I am so frustrated, I just had to write this down so I wouldn't explode with anger. And no, I do not have an anger management issue, but this is ridiculous! I ordered a 10 piece CRISPY SPICIER CHICKEN and a large cole slaw and large dirty rice. I got mashed potatoes, and 5 pieces of dark meat crispy spicy and 5 pieces of white meat regular (not spicy or crispy). Well, we ate it anyway, though unhappily.

The next time we got fried chicken, last night, April 27th, I called the manager to the drive up window. I told her how they got my order wrong last time and asked if she would check it to make sure it was right. She did and AGAIN they gave me regular chicken instead of crispy spicy. So she gave it back to them and told them to correct it. I'll be damned if I didn't get home and it was mostly regular again with 2 pieces of crispy. I don't know if the person who fills the order is a moron, or if the cook is mixing up the crispy and the regular or what is going on there. But I do know that I am fed up with the frustration and inconvenience of getting the wrong order. My husband refuses to go to the Lafayette road store because of this, so he goes all the way to W. 71st street store. I didn't want to go that far so I took my chances with this one.....BAD IDEA!

We eat fried chicken at least twice a week, and started eating Church's when KFC stopped selling crispy. But guess what? They are selling crispy again, and their cole slaw is better because it is finer chopped and they have macaroni and cheese and baked beans, which Church's doesn't.

I suppose I will have no choice but to start eating KFC again. At least they get the order right, most of the time. This makes me sad, but what can I do???

What can you do? I'd follow hubby's advice and go elsewhere. If they screw it up while the manager is watching them, I don't think there is hope of remediation.

Trmn8r has the right idea. But you could let their corporate office know, and maybe they will get on their case to fix the situation.

What happens when you fool me three times? Good saying...I used to use that one often.

Try Popeyes.

I do hold Church's responsible for these mistakes but the OP has an obligation to check their order before leaving as well. ESPECIALLY on the second visit.
Nothing good happens at breakfast joints after the bars close or at drive thrus period.

Lessen learned, huh?
I gave up on Church's years ago.

Good review and I agree with Trmn8r, if they can't get it right in front of manager, don't bother going back.

I'm no FF connoisseur, but I find it ridiculous that the expectation is put on the customer to check their order before leaving. I have a favorite little Thai restaurant near me that I will sometimes order "to go" from - when I stop to pick up my order, they always check my order for me before handing it to me. That's just good business and from the non stop flow of "they got my order wrong for the umpteenth time" FF reviews, one would think these FF joints would start taking the extra 5 seconds to do the same.

Not the customers obligation to check, IMO.

Nicole, Nicole. If they fool you three times or more, you are a fool.

JC, I agree that you shouldn't have to check your order but if you have had problems in the past I know that I would.

Years ago, their "spicy" was noticeably different in color but when I orded some I got the regular and boy was I hot when I got back to work!!
Either the order filler doesn't know the difference between the two or they are just hardwired to serve the regular variety at all times due to their ignorance.
I don't know how they messed up the sides unless they misread the screen.
